My First Digital Painting - a Porsche 911 Outlaw

Thanks for checking out my all new website and welcome to my first digital painting, a Porsche 911 Outlaw.

I get tons of inspiration for my paintings from Instagram and this painting was no different. It’s of a 911 outlaw owned by Rik located in the Netherlands with the Instagram handle @rico_customs (here’s a link to the actual image that inspired my painting).

His custom 911 outlaw is finished in a beautiful deep gray with black wheels and yellow headlights. Center hood gas filler, RS/ST fender flares, rear side window vents and many more details round out the outlaw conversion.

An outlaw 911 is my dream car, especially one that I could design and customize myself.

This digital painting was created using the Procreate app on my 2018 12.9” iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. This was my first full painting using my iPad and Procreate and I have to say it’s much more convenient, less messy and time saving over traditional oil or acrylic painting.

Many years ago I used to paint with oils and acrylics, but for one reason or another I gave it up. Getting this iPad in my life has awakened my passion for painting again and now all I wish is if I could do this all day long rather than the free hour here or there that I have in my busy days now.

If you’re interested in a print of this painting, I’m offering a limited run of 100 signed prints in my shop. The prints are 13”x19” (33cmx48cm) and are printed on archival grade, 60lb, 229gsm Polar Matte paper by Red River Paper using Canon ChromaLife 100+ inks.

Thanks for checking out my first blog post and digital painting. Check back here often as I will be making a post for every digital painting I complete.
